Healthy Eating as an Upward Spiral

It can be difficult and sometimes overwhelming to change the way that we eat or even think about food. It is easy to fall into bad routines or habits.

Having to avoid gluten has made me much more aware of what I am eating, as has my current sugar-free stint (I’m one week in and it’s going okay. Although I saw a picture of a fairly simple cake this morning and now I want cake. I contemplated licking the screen by way of compensation, but I resisted . . . just).

Anyway . . . I came across a post yesterday over on A Couple Cooks about healthy eating and wanted to share it with you. If one of your New Year’s resolutions was to eat better but you’ve found yourself floundering a couple of months in, it may help to spur you on and stick with it. Especially with swimsuit season rapidly approaching . . . eek!

  1. Oh I’ve been there and know what you’re talking about. I know I need to get back on the wagon of no dairy and no wheat but I keep making excuses to myself why not today. Thank you for sharing this article 🙂 leah

  2. I think I might have given in to the screen-licking temptation once or twice, where chocolate recipes are concerned …
I restarted my resolutions for lent, which is MUCH more manageable – 40 days doesn’t seem like a lifetime, and by the end of it I’m hoping habits will have stuck!

    1. Ha! Glad to hear that I am not the only one who contemplates licking the screen!
I have the same thought regarding lent – 40 days doesn’t feel like forever and I’m hoping it will persuade me to make more permanent changes!
